ANYIGBA, KOGI: Security operatives in collaboration with the management of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), formerly Kogi State University, Anyigba, have arrested a student who is an NBM/Black Ax£/Aye cultist, for attempting to forcefully initiate another student into his dangerous cult group. Other crimes of the suspect include: assault, de@th threats against his fellow student, among other cult-related crimes.
The suspect, Mr. Adejo Elisha Ojonimi, a 25-year-old 400-level Economics student, was arrested on June 19, 2026, by vigilante operatives after a complaint from a fellow student who alleged he was pressured to join the NBM/Black Ax£/Aye cult. The complainant further claimed he was assaulted and threatened after refusing to be initiated, forcing him into hiding before reporting the matter.
During preliminary investigations, the complainant reportedly showed visible injvries, while the suspect reportedly admitted to parts of the allegations. Further checks on the suspect’s phone reportedly revealed links and conversations with suspected NBM cult members. The suspect has since been handed over to relevant security agencies for further investigation and possible prosecution, as the university reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on cultism and violence.
