His Excellency,
Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia
Governor, Benue State
Government House, Makurdi

Your Excellency Sir,

RE: THE CONTINUED MARGINALIZATION OF ZONE C – IDOMA NATION IN BENUE STATE

I write with all due honor and respect to draw your attention, as a servant of God Almighty and Father to all Benue people, to the lingering neglect and socio-economic marginalization of the Idoma people of Zone C, Benue State.

Since the creation of Benue State in 1976 from the old Benue-Plateau State, the leadership gap and developmental deficit in Zone C have become glaring – a reality even the blind can see and the deaf can hear. Our silence, loyalty, and patient endurance in penury can no longer be sustained.

Instances of Neglect:

  1. Recent Federal Intervention: When the wife of the President, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, donated One Hundred Million Naira (₦100,000,000) to vulnerable women in Benue State, Zone C was technically excluded from the distribution. The coordination was routed through the office of the First Lady of Benue State, which was skewed toward Zone B. This, by all standards of fairness and equity, is not balanced.
  2. Developmental Projects: Since 2023, I have yet to witness any major, commissioned developmental initiative in the Idoma axis comparable to the scale of projects visible in Zones A and B. Roads, hospitals, schools, and industrial initiatives remain conspicuously skewed away from Zone C.

Your Excellency, Zone C citizens pay the same taxes, contribute the same resources, and bleed the same blood for Benue State. To shortchange us politically and developmentally is to weaken the very unity you swore to uphold.

Our Plea:
I therefore use this medium to advocate for equity, fairness, and balanced development across all three senatorial zones. Zone C deserves its rightful share of infrastructure, appointments, empowerment programs, and social interventions – not as a favor, but as a right of citizenship.

As a Reverend Father, you embody justice, compassion, and integrity. I pray God Almighty continues to grant you wisdom and understanding to govern effectively for the good of all Benue people, without zone, tribe, or tongue.

Zone C is not asking for special treatment. We are demanding equal treatment.

God bless Benue State. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
