His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has approved the appointment of Hon. Mathias Agbo Omikpa as Special Adviser on Rural Development and Community Mobilization.
The appointment is in furtherance of Governor Alia’s commitment to deepening grassroots governance, strengthening rural infrastructure development, and enhancing effective community mobilization across Benue State.
Hon. Omikpa, an accomplished administrator, human resources professional, entrepreneur, and politician holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and a Diploma in Personnel Management from Benue State University, Makurdi.
Hon. Omikpa brings a strong background in administration, political coordination, and enterprise management.
His key work experience includes, Executive Director, OMIX Group, Ugbokolo 2012 until his appointment, where he oversees operations, agricultural and enterprise management, staff supervision, and business development.

Over the years, he also served as elected Councillor representing Amejo Ward in Okpokwu Local Government Area, Director General of the Daniel Onjeh Campaign Organization, and Campaign Coordinator for the Buhari/Osinbajo Presidential Campaign in Benue South Senatorial District.
He also contributed to national assignments as a member of the Federal Government Extended Special Public Works Programme Selection Committee in Benue State and participated in the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 general elections amongst others.
The governor expresses confidence that Hon. Omikpa’s wealth of experience and dedication to public service will contribute signficantly to strengthening rural development initiatives and community mobilization efforts across Benue State.
